"The Last Long Days" is a through-composed duet for vibraphone and piano. It features multiple sections and takes me on an emotional journey when I listen back to it...
I really wanted to write a piece that almost seemed like a classical piece - with specific accompaniment and interplay between the written parts for both players. Then, once the piece is going it's fun to open it up to improvisation!
The title refers to childhood memories about the end of summer, when the sun goes down earlier and a chill is in the air. This piece is perfect for an intermediate or advanced player. A sample piano accompaniment for non-improvising pianists is included.
